Model Interaction/Interfaces
Whilst Catching the train into the city yesterday, it occurred to me that the OSI Model, and Humans both operate in the same way. The lower levels must be covered off before advancing to the higher levels. It was very early yesterday and I was almost late for AISA, so I didn’t get to complete my thinking on the topic. This afternoon I’ve sat down and delved a bit deeper into the relations/overlaps/interfaces/interactions between a few different models; OSI, Maslow, Roger Clarke’s Privacy Model, Helsinki Uni’s Media Model and the Buddhist philosophy of Ten spiritual realms.
A few people have made reference to all the models above that they all have reliance upon the lower layers, before allowing access to higher layers. What I have not seen done is direct connections made between these systems. Obviously this is up to interpretation, and I’m sure if this was done on a different day, a few links maybe different. The concept, however, stands.
