Escaping New Folder?
One of the most annoying things in Windows 2000/XP, for me, is the inability to cancel a New Folder, once “initiated”). You can not escape(literally; you can’t) a New Folder. You CAN escape shortcuts, but not New Folders. This alone is enough for me to create a post, but is not the end of my enquiry.
What makes this really annoying in XP is the placement of New Folder directly next to the Go Up a Directory. It is totally illogical to have a viewer and a creator so close to each other. It gets even worse when you play pick the odd one out…

I’ll give you a hint, It’s the one in red…Yup New Folder.
The 3 in green all relate to manipulation of the current view.
The one in red, creates something on the current view, which as I’ve already declared, can not be escaped.
My hard drive is littered with artifacts of slight mis-click New Folders, that were never intended.
Peter has picked off my other pet-hate already, so no need for it here. (That being applications asking do you want to save changes, when a blank document.)
