Multiple Personalities
In the current day of Linux, there is a multitude of distributions out there. Which is the correct distribution for me? It’s like any other consumer product these days. I’ve put together a little summary of Linux and soft drinks, based on my perception of the world.
The ‘cool kids’ drink Coke, they use RedHat
The ‘fashionable’ kids drink Vanilla Coke, they use Ubuntu
The ‘it’s soo last year kids’ drink Ginger beer, they use Slackware
The ‘fuck society’ kids drink Pepsi, they use Gentoo
The ‘nerdy’ kids they drink Jolt, they use BSD
The ’sporty’ kids they drink water, the use SUSE
Which distribution fits my personal needs, and which distribution should be used on production servers? There’s no clear-cut answer for either of my questions and it’s doing my head in.
